Jospong Group Strengthens Youth Employment and Skills Development
Jospong Group
The Jospong Group of Companies is strengthening its commitment to youth employment, skills development and entrepreneurship through opportunities created across its businesses and the environmental sanitation value chain.
Through its subsidiary Zoomlion Ghana Limited and other businesses within the Group, Jospong has supported employment opportunities spanning waste collection, logistics, equipment operation, recycling, sanitation services and related activities.
The Group’s environmental sanitation operations alone have contributed to thousands of direct jobs and wider employment opportunities across the sanitation value chain.
A 2025 statement by Zoomlion Ghana Limited highlighted more than 6,000 core jobs, approximately 30,000 jobs involving tricycle riders and about 200,000 other employment opportunities associated with the wider sanitation value chain.
The Group has also supported young people through practical training and entrepreneurship opportunities.
Among these initiatives are programmes that provide young people with skills in logistics, occupational safety, customer service and waste management. Some beneficiaries have progressed into tricycle operators and business owners with continued support from the sector.
Jospong Group also places significant emphasis on professional and academic development.
Through the Jospong Academy, employees and learners have access to a digital learning platform offering more than 300 courses across more than 30 subject areas, including entrepreneurship, data analysis, digital transformation, leadership, cybersecurity, project management and business innovation.
The Group has additionally supported research and academic development in environmental sanitation. Its Environmental Sanitation Research Fund has provided grants to researchers from universities and research institutions to investigate challenges and opportunities within the sanitation sector.
Jospong Group believes that sustainable employment creation requires more than jobs alone. It requires opportunities for people to acquire relevant skills, gain practical experience, build businesses and participate meaningfully in growing industries.
As Ghana and other African economies continue to experience demographic and economic transformation, the Group remains committed to developing opportunities that connect young people with emerging sectors, including environmental services, technology, logistics, agriculture, manufacturing and other areas of enterprise.
Through investment, training, partnerships and entrepreneurship, Jospong Group continues to support the development of a skilled and productive workforce capable of contributing to Africa’s long-term economic growth.
