Jospong Group Expands Operations and Regional Footprint Across Africa

Accra, Ghana — July 2, 2025

The Jospong Group of Companies is deepening its presence across Africa as part of its broader strategy to share Ghanaian expertise, develop local capacity and deploy scalable solutions to some of the continent’s most pressing environmental and economic challenges.

As part of its Africa Expansion Project, Jospong Group has intensified strategic engagements with governments and stakeholders across the continent, including in Kenya and Zanzibar.

In July 2025, Executive Chairman Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong undertook a working visit to Mombasa, Kenya, where he held strategic discussions with Mombasa County Governor H.E. Abdullswamad Sherrif Nassir.

The discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen sustainable waste management in Mombasa through innovative solutions while creating economic opportunities for local communities.

The engagement followed Jospong Group’s growing interest in deploying its experience in waste management, sanitation and environmental services to other African markets.

In Zanzibar, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, a subsidiary of Jospong Group, also held high-level discussions with President Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi on potential approaches to waste management and environmental sustainability.

The discussions explored areas including waste sorting and recycling technologies, engineered landfill systems and community-based waste collection models.

Jospong Group has also entered into an agreement with the Lagos State Government in Nigeria to support the development of waste treatment infrastructure.

The Lagos initiative includes the proposed establishment of Material Recovery Facilities, mobile transfer loading stations and recycling plants to improve waste management and recovery.

These engagements form part of the Group’s broader Africa Expansion agenda, which seeks to adapt and deploy proven solutions while building local partnerships and capabilities.

With more than 60 subsidiaries operating across diverse sectors, Jospong Group has built experience in environmental sanitation, logistics, manufacturing, agriculture, automobile and equipment, technology and other industries.

The Group’s expansion strategy is centred on partnerships, investment, knowledge transfer and local capacity development.

Jospong Group believes Africa’s environmental and infrastructure challenges also present opportunities for innovation, enterprise and employment creation.

As the Group continues to expand its regional footprint, it remains committed to working with African governments, businesses, communities and development partners to develop practical solutions that contribute to cleaner, healthier and more prosperous communities.
